Download gMail Mobile app v2.0 for Nokia/Symbian

gMail logoIf, like me, you've been wrestling with your Nokia Symbian S60 smartphone trying to get it to download the new gMail Mobile 2.0 app via your phone's browser (which is a well-documented issue), I'd suggest heading here and downloading it straight to your computer instead. Then you can bluetooth or sync it to your phone directly and Robert's your mother's brother. For some reason Google doesn't want you to do it like this, but it's so much quicker and easier than doing it the "proper" way.

And whilst I'm dispensing advice, I've just discovered Foxmarks, a Firefox add-on which keeps your bookmarks synced across multiple machines. Just what I've been looking for! And if you want to try it out, they've just released betas for Internet Explorer (why would you be using that?!) and Safari too.

  1. Foxmarks, most useful....another dart thrown at MobileME....if there's a free 20GB of online storage pops up we could even be on for a contemplative 180...!:-)

  2. Yeah, thanks for the Foxmarks link. I've been looking for something like that for a while now.And what is the Symbian you talk about? Is it some archaic operating system of yesteryear? Hurry up and buy your iPhone man!

  3. Dave, as much as you know I'd love an iPhone - I simply can't afford it. I can barely stretch to the £17.50 a month my current phone costs me, let alone DOUBLE that for the minimum monthly tariff on the iPhone. Plus you have to buy the thing in the first place for at least another £99, and tie yourself into an 18-month contract. Yes, I KNOW IT'S FABULOUS. Yes, I REALLY WANT ONE. Yes, I'M NOT A PROPER APPLE FAN WITHOUT ONE. But goddammit, it's too much money. Give me my current number of minutes, texts and data for the same price as I currently shell out and I will be right there with you iPhone owners. Until then, or you offer to pay my bill for me, I'll be stuck in Symbian City... :o(
